The Three Bridges of Berwick

DSC_06431 copy

If you haven’t observed it, there are three bridges on the photo (look at the first arc). I find this fascinating – three bridges on a row.

Old Bridge

This is the old bridge or the Berwick bridge completed in 1634.

This is the Royal Border bridge or the railway bridge opened in 1850.

The last one (in the middle), which is the newest, is the Royal Tweed bridge or the new bridge. It was completed in 1925.

When we first set foot on this village of Berwick, this was the first thing that caught my eye! Three bridges side by side (relatively!).
