Having a good place to stay is one of the critical considerations when traveling. I always have a (minimum) checklist for every accommodation:
Always check hotel reviews in tripadvisor when booking a hotel or any accommodation. It helps to expect possible same experience e.g. run down rooms, clean toilets, noisy environment etc.
My Home Tropical Garden Guesthouse in Siem Reap, Cambodia made it to my checklist. I wasn’t expecting much considering that it is a budget guesthouse. However, I was in for a big surprise. The guesthouse is one of the best low cost accommodation!
Staff – The staffs were very kind, friendly and accommodating. They helped us booked for our tours; prepared our foods; and provided maps and travel booklets. They did the services with warmth smiles and genuine cordiality. They were always at your call if you need anything.
Rooms – The beds were neatly tucked and sprawled with clean sheets. They have a medium cabinet, air conditioner in addition to a ceiling fan, safety box, television, and a mini-ref. The bathroom was clean though the shower was not fully working well (cannot maximize the flow of water). They provided towels, soap, toothbrush and slippers.
Food – The food is good. They have buffet breakfast served from 6 am to 8 am only. You can also order for free breakfast from 6 am to 10 am.
Facilities and Services -They have a pool and spa room! Avail of their amenities to maximize the value of your accommodation! They also offer tour guides, transportation and tour packages. Aside from free wifi, they have two computers at the lobby for free internet surfing. For people who wants to read more about Cambodia, they have shelves loaded with books. Though, a lot of the books are in French.
Cost – We booked 2 triple rooms for 24 USD each plus an extra bed. Total cost for one night for 7 people was 51 USD only! Low price given the guesthouse services!
Social Advocate – My Home guesthouse is supporting the following organizations:
Child Safe International : www.childsafe-international.org
Friend Without A Border and Angkor Hospital for Children: www.fwab.org
Sangkheum Center for Children: www.sangkheum.org
I am always impressed for businesses supporting socially-relevant activities. It is an admirable act that they give back to the community.
